Why Prime & Paint Exists
We believe miniature painting is one of the most rewarding hobbies you can have. And we believe you deserve honest, community-driven guidance to do it well — not SEO-stuffed listicles recommending whatever pays the highest commission.
My first painted Space Marine came out looking like a crime scene. Mould lines I didn't know existed. Paint so thick it obscured the detail. A shade wash pooled in the wrong places. I was painting in the dark — figuratively and, as it turned out, literally — under a 60W incandescent bulb that made everything look orange.
What changed things wasn't a tutorial. It was the community. Finding people who'd already learned what actually works — what primer plays nicely with what paint range, which brush holds a point under real use, why your drybrushing looks chalky — and were willing to share it plainly.
Prime & Paint is that community in a website. We write for painters at every level: the person who just opened their first Start Collecting box and the person with 2,000 points on the shelf wondering how to push their blending further. We don't cater to one or the other. We think depth and accessibility can coexist.
